HoneyBook Contact Forms vs. Questionnaires: What’s the Difference?

September 15, 2023

Hey, there! As of March 2023, HoneyBook has rebranded, which means they are updating a lot of terms and phrases we frequently use throughout our blog posts. That doesn’t change anything below; it just means you’ll see some different terminology from us moving forward. For more details, we have a breakdown of the changes in this blog!

What’s the difference between HoneyBook Contact Forms and Questionnaires?

It’s a super common question we get asked a lot. And it’s a fair question, right? Both kind of look the same, function the same, and can serve similar purposes.

So, what’s the actual difference between the two? And when should you use one vs. the other Watch the short video below to see the differences in action, or keep reading to learn more!

HoneyBook Contact Forms

The quickest way I explain the purpose of HoneyBook Contact Forms is that they’re designed to capture leads.

Think of contact forms on websites – they’re typically meant to gather high-level information for you to follow up on. Whether it’s a general question, an inquiry about your services or products, or something else.

With HoneyBook, you can share your Contact Form through a public link or embed it directly on your website. Take our website, for example. Our contact form looks like it’s a part of our website, but it’s actually embedded! That way, every time someone submits the form, it funnels directly into our HoneyBook pipeline.

When it’s time to create or update your own HoneyBook Contact Form, think of the information you want to gather from your lead. What’s going to set you up for success in order to continue nurturing that lead? In general, we recommend gathering information like:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Business name
  • Website URL
  • Business details (what it is, who they serve, how long they’ve been in business)
  • Instagram/social handles
  • Subject or topic they’re interested in
  • An open text box for any other specific questions they may have

We also ask a few questions that are specific to DaSilva Life and how we help/serve clients.

HoneyBook Questionnaires

HoneyBook Questionnaires are typically used to gather more in-depth information. Whether you’re onboarding a client, gathering data for case studies, or asking for testimonials, questionnaires are a great way to dive a little deeper.

Note: in order to send a questionnaire, the client must be already in your HoneyBook account or they need to be added. Whereas contact forms, it is a public link.

Questionnaires are also a huge time-saver for you and your entire team. For example, say you’re using HoneyBook Questionnaires to onboard a new client and kick off their projects. Instead of gathering all that information during a call, you can have them fill out their questionnaire beforehand so you can dive right in.

To get started, think of all the details you want or need to do that successfully. Yes, it may turn into asking them several questions up front, but everyone will be better off. Even better? anytime someone fills out a questionnaire, all that data is stored directly in HoneyBook! You no longer have to scramble around to find notes that you haphazardly took – it’s all right there!
