How to Use HoneyBook in 2024

January 19, 2024

In case you missed the news, HoneyBook rebranded in March 2023, updating the name and terminology. They also released brand new features that took the client experience game to the next level. And even then, their “old” features are just as robust and helpful as ever.

We’re not shy about shouting our love for HoneyBook from the rooftops. If you want to use HoneyBook in 2024 for the first time, or dive deeper into its amazing CRM features, this blog is for you.

New HoneyBook features that streamline, automate, and organize

Smart Files

Smart Files is a one-stop shop, a personalized client website that lets them submit invoices, access client contracts, book and schedule your services, and much more. Since it’s all in one place, all  you have to do is share the unique link with your clients.

There are five types of Smart Files:

  • Contracts
  • Invoices
  • Proposals
  • Questionnaires
  • Brochures

The difference between these new Smart Files features and HoneyBook’s legacy files? There are more customization options for branding, payment, layout, and design for each feature.

Lead Forms

Lead Forms are one of HoneyBook’s successful user-requested updates that they launched back in August. It’s a type of public Smart File that you can share with anyone via a unique link.

What makes them different from HoneyBook Contact Forms? The names and purposes are pretty similar, but they are unique!

Think of Lead Forms as a landing page where a potential client can book you immediately and view a brochure or pricing guide. With a Contact Form, they’d have to submit their info and wait for your response. And potentially lose interest in your services. Lead Forms speed up the process and give clients the info they need immediately.

Sell Digital Products

Do you offer templates or eBooks? Workbooks, worksheets, or checklists? How about online courses or workshops? HoneyBook makes it easy for you to sell digital products as a special type of service item.

All you have to do is add your products to a Lead Form. Once a client purchases your digital product from the form, they get access as soon as they pay. That’s the only way to offer digital products for now; HoneyBook is working on expanding this feature as a  Smart File, which is awesome.

New Contacts View

Lots of people assume HoneyBook is a clientflow platform just for photographers, wedding industry service professionals, or solopreneurs. While HoneyBook does see a lot of those types of users, it’s great for so many people in other spaces!

Coaches, consultants, and agencies (like us) are using HoneyBook. They’ve realized that, and they’ve introduced a new way to look at Contacts. With this new Contact View, you can look at a client as if they’re a brand with multiple projects, rather than a big list of projects. It’s a small update that makes a difference in keeping your HoneyBook organized.

Old HoneyBook features we still love

Automations

Automations are hands-down our favorite HoneyBook feature. (Don’t tell the others!) They’re so helpful in keeping your processes moving along. They free up so much time so you can focus on the most important work in your business.

With Automations, you can streamline your systems and avoid manually completing common tasks. Send emails, share Smart Files, reply to new inquiries, and more automatically! We talk about what Automations can do all the time because they’re such a game-changer.

Scheduler

Like Lead Forms, the HoneyBook Scheduler puts up less of a barrier to entry for potential clients. Instead of coordinating schedules through countless back-and-forth emails, texts, or messages, a client can simply schedule a meeting with you on HoneyBook.

Plus, the Scheduler helps you set boundaries around your schedule by integrating with your Google Calendar. If you already have other meetings or personal events blocked off on your Google Calendar, HoneyBook will block them off, too.

Client Portal

Organization is crucial in having your business systems and operations run smoothly, and HoneyBook’s Client Portal is a key part of that. With the Client Portal, you always have one place that houses everything you need for that specific client. Projects, files, key client info, deliverables, communication: all of them live in the Client Portal.

New HoneyBook features that streamline, automate, and organize

There you have it, folks. The rebranded HoneyBook serves a broader range of small businesses with new features like Smart Files, Lead Forms, Digital Products, and Contacts View. Its old features like Automations, Scheduler, and Client Portal are still doing their thing, helping business owners simplify their systems and boost their productivity.

If you’re new to HoneyBook or haven’t explored its new features yet, now’s the time to take advantage of this clientflow management platform for your business!
