How to Use ClickUp and Morgen Calendar and Task Manager Together

Morgen Calendar and Task Manager, or just Morgen, is a powerful all-in-one scheduling app that integrates all your calendars, to-dos, and project tools. It’s basically your new best friend when it comes to time blocking and calendar management.

But the best part is, Morgen isn’t just your run-of-the-mill calendar app. It also seamlessly integrates with ClickUp. An amazing scheduling app paired with our favorite project management platform? Yes please.

Learn why you should start using Morgen, plus how to integrate Morgen and ClickUp below!

Morgen Calendar features we love (and you will, too)

The UX is fantastic

Before we dive into what Morgen can do, let’s talk about what it looks like. App design is important, and even more so when you’re a visual learner/worker!

Morgen’s UX design is so simple and soothing. Project management platforms and calendars can get cluttered quickly, and I think Morgen does a good job of avoiding that. Its interface is intuitive and minimal, so it’s easy to find things and get things done.

Morgen integrates with all your calendars

This is an important one. If you have an all-in-one app, it needs to integrate with everything you use for your biz, right? Morgen does. (And it’s available on all devices!)

Morgen integrates with different calendars you’re already using, like Google Calendar, Outlook, iCal, Exchange, Microsoft360, and more. All of your separate calendars are combined in Morgen so you can see what’s on your schedule in one place.

We also like Morgen’s different calendar settings. For example, you can dim past events so you know at a glance that they’re completed. You can also switch between Day, Week, or Month views. You have the option to hide completed tasks, hide declined events, and merge duplicate events to organize your calendar, too.

Morgen helps you stay on top of tasks

Not only does Morgen integrate with multiple calendars, it integrates with all your other task managers, too. ClickUp is the big one, but there’s also Notion, Todoist, Linear, Google Tasks, and Microsoft To Do. You can easily see which tasks come from which platform, too.

When you connect a platform to Morgen, you choose which tasks to include. This option is really helpful if you want to import tasks that are only assigned to you, for example. We recommend focusing on the lists and spaces that include tasks that require your time.

One more fun task-related feature? You can set notifications in Morgen to receive reminders for your upcoming scheduled tasks. It makes it harder for things to slip through the cracks!

Time blocking and time tracking are a cinch

Time blocking is one of the best ways to organize your time as a business owner. Not just organize, protect your time. If your calendar gets filled up fast with client meetings, team standups, admin work, and everything else, it’s harder to find time for deep work, time off, and other important things.

That’s one of the features we like most about Morgen.

For one thing, you can mark time blocks free or busy, which your colleagues or team members can see. And when you time block in Morgen, you schedule that time directly in your calendars (without having to log in to each individual one). This prevents double bookings, too.

If you have a big task that can’t be completed in a single time block, you can schedule multiple time blocks to knock out that task. You can easily time block by dragging a task into your calendar and editing the time.

Now, what about time tracking? In Morgen, time tracking is based on the size of your time block. Let’s say you spend 45 minutes on a task that you blocked one hour for. Before marking that task complete, adjust your time block first. This will help your time tracking be accurate.

When you mark a task completed in Morgen, it will track your time, but it won’t mark your task completed elsewhere, like in ClickUp or another tool. This is actually really helpful because not every single workflow is the same. Instead of marking a task "complete", it may be "ready to schedule" or "ready for review". In this case, it's best to mark the statuses natively in ClickUp itself.

How to set up ClickUp and Morgen

Ready to connect ClickUp with Morgen? Not to worry, it’s super easy. Let’s do this!

  1. First, open the Morgen desktop app.
  2. Click the check mark icon ☑️ in the left sidebar.
  3. Open the menu by clicking the … at the top.
  1. Click Connect a task integration, which will open the integration widget.
  2. Click the Add account button, then choose ClickUp from the list.

Morgen will ask you to sign in to ClickUp, then grant it permission to access your chosen Workspaces. After you select the Workspace you want Morgen to access, you’ll pick the Spaces, Lists, and Tasks to import.

Open up Morgen, and now you’ll see a ClickUp tab with tasks from the ClickUp Spaces you chose!

And now you can drag and drop the tasks into your calendar to time-block like a pro!

Take your scheduling to the next level

We’re super excited about Morgen and ClickUp at DaSilva Life, and I hope you are now, too! It’s a complete game changer for time blocking and scheduling, and it integrates so well with ClickUp.
