Case Study: How We Used HoneyBook Automations to Free Up Time for Grafted

In this case study, we’re taking a look at our project with Grafted! Grafted is a lifecycle marketing agency that serves tech brands with mobile applications. They support their clients by building out email, push notifications, and in-app message automation.

As Grafted grew, co-founder Jackson Yomogita found that he needed help making HoneyBook work for the business. Managing the actual CRM and the tasks involved was taking too much time and energy. They needed a way to automate functions that supported their growth and freed up precious work hours.

Grafted’s problem: Managing everything manually

As Grafted began to really scale, Jackson realized that the following tasks were beginning to take up too much of his time:

  • Managing the continuous flow of leads from the Grafted website
  • Building contracts for new clients
  • Communication with prospective clients
  • Handling signing of contracts

Everything felt “very manual,” as Jackson said. While HoneyBook wasn’t the problem itself — they had been using the CRM for three years — Jackson realized that they could be using it in an easier, more streamlined way for their unique business.

Knowing that their already busy team didn’t have the time and energy to find solutions on their own, Jackson hired DaSilva Life for the job.

Grafted’s solution: Automate and optimize workflows

To help Jackson free up time on his calendar, plus streamline all those manual workflows, we hopped on a kickoff call to uncover and outline what assets are needed.

For example, we figured out that Grafted needed:

  • An auto responder email for initial inquiries
  • An invite to a call
  • Multiple followup messages
  • A strategy SOW call
  • Sending their contract and MSA agreements emails
  • A welcome email

These notes and assets were then sent to our copywriter and graphic designer, who brought them to life. The canned emails were just one part of the equation, however.

We also built other assets: smart file templates, active templates, a lead form, and a call scheduler. You can see in the testimonial video above how simple and seamless this call scheduler makes things for both Grafted and their clients.
